1Cor 15:34   Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.

1John 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

I often hear Christians say: "we all sin" in truth I have never met anyone who hasn't sinned. The problem that I see is that Christians have the wrong mind set, in regards to sin. We see ourselves as sinners saved by grace and we will sin. Christians make the same old excuse we're all going to sin, yet the Bible says sin not.

Wouldn't it be unfair for God to tell us to do something that we could not do?

Apparently God expects us to come to the place that we resist sin and do the right thing.

1 Corinthians 15:34... says awake unto righteousness and sin not.

The word awake means-to rouse (oneself) out of stupor: - awake.

Instead of seeing ourselves as  Christians who are going to sin; we must see ourselves  as  Christians who are going to resist sin and do the right thing.

If I see myself as a sinner then I have already set myself up for failure.

Many Christians are not aware of who they are and what they are in Christ. When we realize what God's word says about us we will  begin to see ourselves differently.

God's word will wake us up!

Please notice the next scriptures, notice the underlined parts.

Romans 6:1-16  What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?

Rom 6:2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

Rom 6:3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

Rom 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Rom 6:5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

Rom 6:6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

Rom 6:7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.

Rom 6:8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:

Rom 6:9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.

Rom 6:10 For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.

Rom 6:11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Rom 6:12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.

Rom 6:13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

Rom 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

Rom 6:15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.

Rom 6:16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

As Christians you and I must:

Know that we have been baptized into the death of Christ.
Know that our old man has been crucified. (who and what we were in the linage of Adam, as far as original sin is concerned.)
We must reckon (realize that we are dead to sin but alive to God)

We must not let sin reign (have dominion over us)
We must not yield the members of our body to sin

Just how do we accomplish this?

Remember what our Lord Jesus said:

Luke 9:23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

What other scriptures says:

Romans 8:13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

Gal 5:24  And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

Gal 5:25  If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

We must realize that our lives no longer belong exclusively to ourselves

Romans 6:11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

When we do the reckoning the Holy Spirit will empower us to resist sin.

God will not go against our will.

When you and I realize that we are already dead to sin and we yield ourselves to righteousness, the Holy Spirit will enforce what has already been legally done.

Let us hunger and thirst for righteousness and pursue holiness.

Hebrews 12:14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
