The Error of the Jehovah's Witnesses

This tract contains the following:

The Jehovahís Witnesses say that they are in the truth. If they really do have the truth then that truth should be able to hold up to the scrutiny of Godís Word.

In this pamphlet I hope to examine several of their basic teachings and compare them with orthodox Christian views.

It is not my intention to bash nor to demean anyone; only to present the truth of Godís word and let the reader determine for themselves.

1Thessalonians 5:21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

2Corinthians 13:5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith;

One of their Predictions

That Jesus Christ has already come back but secretly. They have changed this prediction several times. 1874-1914-etc.

Please notice the Words of the LORD.

Matthew 24:36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

Mark 13:32 But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.

Even Jesus Himself did not know the time. Is the Lord Jesus a Liar?

The truth of Godís Word

Revelation 1:7 Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all
kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.

Luke 21:27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

Some of their basic teachings

1. Concerning Jesus Christ.

A. That Jesus is Michael the archangel.

    * This implies that Jesus is a created angel and not God the Son the third person of the trinity.

Please notice the following scripture:

Heb 1:5, 13 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?
Vs.13 But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool?

As to the Deity of Jesus Christ

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

John 1:2 The same was in the beginning with God.

John 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

Hebrews 1:2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

The Bible of the Jehovahís Witnesses - New World translation (NWT)

I will only speak of one of the many distortions in their bible.

NWT

John 1:1 In the beginning the word was, and the word was with God and the word was a god

Having examined over 17 other reliable translations of the Bible; all say that the word was God  but the Jehovah's Witnesses say a god.

Why?

To support their erroneous teaching.

Over 150 Bible scholars with degrees in the Hebrew and Greek language were involved in the 17 translations.

Five Jehovah's Witnesses were involved in the translation of their bible. Of the 5 member committee, four had only a high school education and the fifth had two years of college. Who will you believe, five Jehovahís witnesses with an agenda or 150 Bible scholars?

B. That Jesus was not resurrected bodily but only spirit.

Please notice the following scriptures:

Luke 24:36 And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.

Luke 24:37 But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit.

Luke 24:38 And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts?

Luke24:39 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.

Luke 24:40 And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his hands and his feet.

Luke 24:41 And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat?

Luke 24:42 And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb.

Luke 24:43 And he took it, and did eat before them.

C. That faith in Jesus is not enough for Salvation, one must also work.

Note: The heart of the epistles (books) by Apostle Paul bear out that we are justified by faith in Jesus and not by keeping the law or our works.

Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Ephesians 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Romans 10:3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.

Romans 10:4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.

Galatians 3:6 Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.

Good works follow salvation they do not earn salvation. Jesus Christ earned our right to salvation by His work, the blood that he shed for us at Calvary. To add any thing to this is a disgrace. My space is limited in this tract so I will end it with this. Beware of the teachings of the Jehovah's Witnesses. Only on the surface do they appear to be a Christian church.

Beware of their teachings!
