The Fight of Faith
1Timothy 6:12Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
The fight of faith is standing firm on God's word and not allowing doubt and unbelief to move us. To fight the fight of faith, one's faith must be rock solid, this stems from being rooted and grounded in the Word of God.
Romans 10:17So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
The fight of faith concerning salvation
With all kinds of religions, cults and the occult, we are bombarded daily with all sorts of so called truths. For the Christians the fight of faith is to believe in Jesus Christ, that He and He alone is the way to God. That He died for our sins, was crucified and rose again on the 3rd. day for our justification. Jesus is God's way of Salvation and there is no other, He is the truth, the life and the way.
We base this on God's word - some samples:
John 3:16 God so loved the world ( people ) that He gave His Only Begotton Son and whoever believes in Him will not perish, but will have eternal life.
Vs.36He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
1 John 5:12 He that has the Son has life, and he that has not the Son of God, has not life.
2 Peter 2:9 God wills that none perish, but that all should come to repentance.
1 Corinthians 15:3-4 Christ died for our sins, He was buried and rose again on the third day.
Acts 4:12 "And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved."
John 14:6 Jesus said, " I am the way, the truth, the life, no man comes to the Father but by Me."
John 1:12 As many as receive Him. to them gives He power to become the sons of God.
Romans 10:13 Whosoever will call upon the name of the Lord will be saved.
1John 5:4For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, [even] our faith.
1John 5:5Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
The fight of faith when we are believing God for something.
Why is it a fight to believe God for something? Very often the situation or circumstance will be in direct contrast to what God has said. It will scream at our reasoning that it cannot be. If we yield to the pressure we fall into doubt and unbelief.
In the following scriptures Hebrews 11:1-40 we find men and women of
faith who refused
The heroes of faith Chapter

Heb 11:15And truly, if they had been mindful of that [country] from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned.

Heb 11:26Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.

Heb 11:32And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and [of] Barak, and [of] Samson, and [of] Jephthae; [of] David also, and Samuel, and [of] the prophets:
Heb 11:33Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,

Heb 11:39And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:
Heb 11:40God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.
As one reads the bible accounts of these men and women of faith, we see great contrasts between God's promises and their circumstances and situations.
Abraham is such a wonderful example of the fight of faith in
action. God told him that he would have a son but his body and his wife's
body said otherwise. They chose to believe what God said, realizing that
all things are possible with God.
Abraham Rom 4:19
Rom 4:19And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara's womb: 20 He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;
Abraham was 100 yrs old and Sarah was 90 yrs old. (Genesis ch.17)
Abraham believed God and they received the promise, God is faithful to His word.
If God has spoken something to your heart, trust Him.
