Some characteristics of Jesus

His Love

John 13:34 I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. As I have loved you, you should also love one another.
35 By this all shall know that you are My disciples, if you have love toward one another.

John 15:12-13  This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.
13 No one has greater love than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

One expression of His great love was when He hung from the cross.

Luke 23:34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.

In terrible torment and pain He still looked at others with love and compassion.

There are many examples in the gospels of His love for God the Father, humanity, and righteousness.

Hebrews 1:9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

His selflessness

Philippians 2:3-5 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than themselves.
4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.
5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

Isaiah 53:4-7  Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.

John 10:11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.

His humility

Philippians 2:6-8 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

His servants heart

Matthew 20:27-28  And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant: 28 Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

His obedience

Matthew 26:39 And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.

Qualities of Jesus - fruit of the Spirit

Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance:

This is the fruit that The Holy Spirit is developing in the born-again children of God. These are a reflection of Christ's nature in us.
