Jesus the Savior "tract"

Jesus the Savior

E.L. Davis

Salvation is the saving of someone from evil and harm. Bible salvation is the saving of someone from the consequences of sin and eternal loss.

Several factors are involved in the process.
Someone needs to be saved.
Someone has to be willing and able to save.
The person that needs to be saved must be willing to be saved.

Someone needs to be saved

Rom 3:10 As it is written, "There is no one righteous. No, not one.

Rom 3:23 for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God;

Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

The human race sins because we are sinners. Yes sometimes people are very nice, do good deeds etc. but we still have a sin issue.

It is kind of like:  a rotten potato, the potato may look and feel firm on the outside but on the inside it is rotten.

God sees our heart and knows that we have the rot of sin in the very core of our being.

God created Adam and Eve; the first parents of the human race, sinless and innocent. Being tempted by Satan they fell in sin. Through them, sin was passed off to the whole human race.

Rom 5:12 Therefore, as sin entered into the world through one man, and death through sin; and so death passed to all men, because all sinned. God said that the result of sin would be death. Biblical death means separation; there are 3 mentioned in the Bible

Physical death is the separation of the soul and spirit from oneís body.
Spiritual death is separation from God.
The 2nd. death is eternal separation from God, in the lake of fire with no hope.

Godís will is that no one perish.

2Pet 3:9...not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

God is able and willing to save

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not
perish, but have eternal life.

John 3:17 For God didn't send his Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through

If a person rejects Godís free gift of eternal life.

John 8:24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.

John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

God gave His best to save us, His only begotton Son. Jesus died for our sins, He took our place. He took our sin and its consequences; Godís wrath for sin.

Thank you Lord Jesus!

Itís kind of like: you or I would go into a prison and take a condemned manís place, take the penalty for his crimes and then allow him to go free.

A Question?

If you took someoneís place in front of a firing squad, died for their crimes, so that they could be set free from all charges and guilt. How would you feel if that person said they were set free because they were a model prisoner, they tried real hard etc.

Would it be offensive to you? Why?

Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man  should boast.

The condemned man in our illustration did not merit nor earn his freedom, it was a gift of love for him and a willingness to die for him.

Thatís what Jesus did for you and me, you cannot add anything to His gift of love. It would be a slap in His face.

Isaiah 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousness are as filthy rags

Let me get personal:

All you or I can do, is acknowledge that we are sinners and that the sentence of death is up on us. We need a Savior, a Savior who is willing to take our place, take our sins and set us free. God provided His only begotten son Jesus Christ, and He carried out the plan of God for our salvation. Jesus was willing and able.

Are you willing to accept Godís free gift?

Itís not about religion, church, turning over a new leaf, or anything you can do. Jesus Christ is Godís free gift of salvation.

If you ignore Jesus where can you go, to wash away your sins? On the Day of Judgment what will you say to God? Does my good outweigh my bad? I tried to keep the 10 commandments etc.

Eph 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

Gal 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ,

When a person accepts Godís free gift of salvation, which is in Jesus Christ, their name is added to Godís book of life.

Rev 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Have you accepted Jesus as your Savior?

Is your name in His book of Life? If your answer is no, then please pray---

God, I believe that Jesus took my place, died for my sins and rose again on the 3rd day. Lord Iím a sinner, Please forgive all my sins. Lord Jesus I accept you as my Savior. Thank you Lord for Saving me!

Tell someone that you accepted Jesus as your Savior.

Romans 10:9-10 ...with the heart man believes unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Wonderful Jesus!
