Neck Surgery

Gone Where?   Swamped by   Celibacy   Remarriage   Brain Tumor   Neck Surgery

As I am at this present time recovering from yet another surgery, I thought I would share some things about a surgery I had in 2003. After some soul searching, I share this only to glorify Jesus and not disease or sickness. I hope that these testimonies will encourage others that are experiencing hardships of some sorts.

Because of degenerative disk disease 5 of the 7 disk in my neck were removed and my cervical spine was fused together.  I would like to say it went wonderful but it never. For the last 9 years, pain and head aches have been a daily companion.

After many prayers, many tears, many pain pills, conditions have not changed much. My emotions at times have been like a roller coaster, but by God's grace I have been able for the most part to keep them in check. There's been times that I was angry at God for not fixing this etc. sometimes very disappointed but after repenting, my conclusion is always the same, my Father loves me beyond human understanding.

The following scripture I have found to be true.

Isaiah 43:2 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

Sometimes God heals and delivers, sometimes He doesn't. When He doesn't, He walks with us and gives us the grace to endure hardship. The 3 Hebrew children were thrown in the fiery furnace but God went in with them and preserved them. In the mist of hardship Satan will always try to destroy our faith, but our God just proves it and is glorified by it; as in the case of Job. We all wonder sometimes WHY! unless or until  God shows us, we must fight the good fight of faith.

2Timothy 4:7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

One of the tricks of the devil is to get a person to thinking that they are the only ones who are suffering, that is a lie; in thirty years I have never met a Christian who has not suffered to some degree. I have never met a Christian, preacher etc. that truly had the answers. Some like to think they do, but only God truly knows. As for preachers, being one myself. Why can't we just be real and answer "I don't know"   Is it that we don't want people to see us as we really are?

My brothers and sisters be of good courage you are not alone, fight the good fight of faith, press forward for the prize of the high calling of God that is in Christ Jesus, and always remember the word of our Lord and Savior.

Hebrews 13:5-6 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
6 So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

So, in closing I would like to personally say: "Praise you my Lord and Savior and thank you for rescuing me from the
miry clay, to be a chosen vessel of honor, for your purpose and  glory, Thank you for your daily wonderful presence and provision."

1John 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
