Christ Gives Authority to His Disciples

Matthew 28:18-20 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
19. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Luke 10:17,19..Lord even the devils are subject unto us through thy name
Acts 3:6...Peter said "in the name of Jesus Christ rise up and walk

A. Man created in Godís Image
Genesis 1:26-27 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
VS.27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
When Adam and Eve sinned, they no longer reflected Godís image. Jesus Christ made it possible by faith in him, to receive a new birth; whereby his image is reflected in Godís children, from glory to glory.
Because man has lost the image of God, he will seek to identify with something, or someone. ( careers, sports, hobbies, religions, people, fads, etc. )
B. Christians are being Conformed to the Image of Jesus Christ
Romans 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
Jesus: the only begotton Son of God, is the image, that God is conforming us to be like. ( those who have accepted Jesus Christ, as their Lord and Savior, those that have been born again )
C. A Maturing Work
2 Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

2 Corinthians 3:18 The above scripture...even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
2. The Word of God

John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
Ephesians 5:26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word.
James 1:22-24 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.
VS.23 Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what the word says is like a man who looks at his face in the mirror
VS.24 and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.
3. Five Fold Ministry
Ephesians 4:11-13 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
VS.12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
VS.13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the fullness of Christ.
