Within the nature of the One eternal God ( Isaiah 43:10 ) there are three distinct  persons ( Luke 3:21, 22 ) The Father ( 2 Peter 1:17 ), The Son ( John 1:1, 14 ), and The Holy Spirit ( Acts 5:3, 4 ). The Father is not the Son, and the Son is not the Holy Spirit, and The Holy Spirit is not the Father, these three are one in unity and share equally in the divine nature.

1 JOHN 5:7   For there are three that bear record in heaven, The Father, The Word, and
The Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

GENESIS 1:26   And God said, ôLet us make man in our image, after our likeness...
Vs.27   So God created man in his own image.

Notice that he said our image, our likeness in vs.26, God was speaking to the God Head
when he said our.
The Bible says that man is spirit, soul and body ( 1 Thessalonians 5:23 ). Being created in Gods image, our triune person is in a small way a reflection of God.

The Trinity can be seen in the following verses:

MATTHEW 3:16-17   And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the
water: And, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God
descending like a dove and lighting upon him:
Vs.17   And, lo, a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am
 well pleased.

MATTHEW 28:19   Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of
the Father, and of the Son, and the Holy Ghost.

2 CORINTHIANS 13:14   The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and
the communion of the Holy Ghost.
